When it stops, is there standing water in the bottom of the tub?
Standing water = a drain problem. A completed cycle with dirty dishes = a wash/heat problem. Two very different paths.
Always de-energize the circuit and verify it's dead with a tester before opening any device. When in doubt, call a licensed electrician.
